The Choose Vegan campaign encourages vegan choices—answer the quiz and you could win a month’s worth of lunches

This October, select vegan options for your plate and test your knowledge in the Veggie Quiz—you could win a month of lunches at Myöhä Cafe & Bar.

At UniCafe, October is filled with tempting vegetarian and vegan meals. We will raffle off a grand prize of a month’s worth of lunches (20 lunch tickets) at Myöhä Cafe & Bar among those who participate in the Veggie Quiz and provide their contact information. Additionally, we will raffle off two weekly lunch packages (5 lunch tickets each) at Myöhä.

We want to challenge our customers to choose vegan for lunch and to spread awareness about the importance of making climate-friendly choices. The goal of the Choose Vegan campaign is to increase the percentage of vegan lunches sold at UniCafe to 50%. The campaign runs in all UniCafe restaurants from October 1 to 31, 2024.

Every day, the UniCafe lunch menus offer a variety of enticing vegan dishes. Valitse vegeä -kampanjan kunniaksi myös sekasyöjän kannattaa vaihtaa vegeen – it’s easy to do in our restaurants, without compromising on taste or satiety.

There are veggie classics, vegan grub, new green delights as well as vegan desserts on offer here.

Making a veg big difference!

Moving to a plant-based diet is one of the key means to reduce carbon emissions and prevent environmental losses. These are goals we at UniCafe are seriously working towards! Our goal is to have at least every other meal sold at UniCafe be vegan or vegetarian – and goals are made to be exceeded, after all.

In 2023, the proportion of our vegan lunches was 45 percent. During October, our goal is to increase that proportion to 50%!

According to Finnish nutrition recommendations, red meat and meat products should be consumed at most 500 grams per week, but studies show that Finns consume meat at double the recommended amount. Therefore, reducing meat consumption is beneficial for both personal health and the climate.

We have lowered the price of our vegan lunch by 10 cents in order to make the smart option financially tempting as well. We are constantly coming up with new vegetarian and vegan meals, working on new concepts such as vegan comfort food, and boldly embracing new food innovations.

We have also made the vegetarian and vegan options the first items on the UniCafe lunch menus as well as in the restaurants’ service lines. This is so that you do not have to search for the good stuff but can find it easily.

So, make a smart choice when visiting a UniCafe restaurant: every vegan meal matters!
