UniCafes reopen in August following the summer break

UniCafes reopen in August following the summer break

UniCafes will return to normal after the summer break. Four restaurants were open throughout the summer, and the rest will reopen gradually during August. Visit the UniCafes on various campuses and choose your favourite.

Whether you are a new student or a campus veteran, UniCafes offer an easy place for lunch, coffee or a quick break in the middle of a day of studies.

Highlights from the various campuses:

City centre: The baguette bar in Kaivopiha, toasties, smoked salmon soup and speciality coffees in the Kaisa building, the porridge bar and baked potatoes at Portaali, tray-baked pizzas at Topelias, and home-made sourdough bread at Soc&Kom; Kumpula: bowls, paninis and home-baked treats at Physicum; Meilahti: paninis, toasties and smoked salmon soup at Terkko; Viikki: smoked salmon soup at Tähkä and pizzas cooked in an authentic pizza oven at Viikuna. Bread and buns baked with organic flour in the in-house bakery at Biokeskus. Speciality coffees at Biokeskus 2.

During the harvest season, from the start of August to early October, Biokeskus and Chemicum will use fresh herbs and vegetables from the local fields of the Green City Farm. Every UniCafe has its own speciality. What would you like today?

Come and check out your nearest restaurant, discover a new favourite food, and take a quick break in the middle of a day of studies!

All the UniCafe lunch menus are shown on the website at www.unicafe.fi and the mobile app at menu.unicafe.fi.

📱 New in the UniCafe app

The user interface of the UniCafe app was updated over the summer. The home screen now allows you to filter the information so that you only see the lunch menus of your chosen restaurants or foods that suit your diet. You can also search for main courses containing ingredients that cause no more than 0.5 kg of CO2e emissions per serving. This threshold is based on the WWF’s One Planet Plate model.
